I had a "I bet that tastes good, but don't have a clue what to do with it, but I'll buy it anyway" moment at the supermarket a few weeks back which resulted in having an unused packet of pastry still sitting in my freezer weeks later.

So the mission begun to find recipes to use up my puff pastry. Had I just turned over the packet, I would have noticed a delicious mouth watering cream chicken and vegetable pie recipe. Well here it is.

And for those who are new to using flaky puff pastry like me, here are some handy hints courtesy of pams.

Puff Pastry Handy Hints

  • Pastry is easier to handle when cool
  • Brush with beaten egg or milk to enhance appearance of pastry
  • To reduce the flakiness for recipes such as sausage rolls, spike the pastry over it's surface with a fork prior to making the recipe
  • Do not thaw or cook pastry in a microwave oven

  1. Creamy Chicken & Vegetable Pie

A tasty homemade recipe for all of the family.
