Crispy Five Spice Chicken Drumsticks

Serve these with a plum sauce and you'll be in tast-bud heaven.

Conversion chart

Ingredients

+ 8 drumsticks
+ 4 spring onions
+ 3 clove Garlic, crushed
+ 4 cm fresh ginger, finely grated
+ 2 tsp five spice powder
+ 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
+ 2 tbsp Shaohsing (Chinese rice wine) or dry sherry
+ 1 tbsp cooking oil
+ black pepper

Add all items to shopping list


Preparation

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together to a make a marinade.
  2. Make some slashes in the thick part of the drumsticks and rub the marinade into these to coat well.
  3. Place in a baking dish and roast on 200°C for 30-45 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked and skin is crispy.
  4. Serve these garnished with sliced thinly spring onions and plum sauce for dipping.
