Looks a million bucks in the glass – or rather looks like the kind of sparkling jewel a millionaire might buy for show. Generous aroma of fresh, just-dry hay on the nose. The bitterness is pitch perfect – dancing lightly with the sweet malt to create a stylish, fresh, clean and zingy lager with a real touch of class. McLeod’s are based in Waipu, about two hours north of Auckland, and have developed a strong following since brewer Jason Bathgate came on board a few years back.
