Exclusive MasterChef Cookware

This promotion has ended.

This promotion has ended

You loved it – thank you New Zealand! Over the last 14 weeks, the New World MasterChef promotion has been one of the most successful to date, with the premium cookware finding new homes in kitchen cupboards, ovens, and stovetops across Aotearoa.

  • Use and care instructions
    • Can the MasterChef Cookware be used on all cooking tops?

Yes, the MasterChef Cookware is suitable for all cooktops, including Induction cooking.  However, the Non-Stick Roaster with Rack should only ever be used in the oven for cooking or baking.

    • Is Stainless Steel Cookware safe to use?

Stainless steel is a very good all-round general-purpose cookware.  The stainless-steel body makes it super durable; easy to use, easy to care for and doesn’t react with food.  The multi material base delivers fast heat conduction and distributes heat evenly.

    • What should I do before I use the MasterChef Cookware?

Please read the Use and Care Instruction Leaflet which is found in the product packaging.  Handwash your cookware in warm soapy water before the first use and then dry using a kitchen towel.

    • Is the MasterChef Cookware dishwasher safe and what is the best way to clean it?

Yes, all the MasterChef Stainless Steel Cookware items are dishwasher safe, but the Non-Stick Roaster with Rack should always be washed by hand.  Regular dishwasher cleaning will eventually affect any cookware and therefore handwashing using a non-abrasive cloth is recommended.  Do not use steel, wool, or other metal pads as this will avoid damaging and scratching the inside surface of your cookware.  Do not plunge a hot pan directly into cold water.

Avoid any impact to the glass lids and do not place directly on any heat source or immerse in water immediately after cooking.  Always allow the lid to cool before placing directly in water or placing on a wet or cold surface.

    • Should I use oven gloves to handle the MasterChef cookware?

It is recommended to use oven gloves with any Stainless-Steel cookware as the handles may become hot with use. Do not use a wet cloth to remove or handle a hot glass lid.  For the safety of children, never leave the handles of your cookware sticking out over the edge of the cook top or a kitchen surface.

    • Why do the handles on my MasterChef Cookware sometimes feel hot to touch?

It is important that you always use oven gloves when handling cooking products with stainless steel handles.  Ensure that your heat source is only heating the base of your cookware and not the sides or handle of your pan e.g.:

Always use the burner size that most closely matches the size of your pan.
If cooking with gas, centre your pan on the burner and do not allow the flame to go up the sides of the pan.
      Use low to medium heat.

    • What type of cooking utensils should I use when cooking?

Do not use any sharp edged or metal utensils or cut food directly in the cookware to avoid damaging and scratching your cookware.  Use only nylon, plastic, or wooden utensils.   The MasterChef 2 pc Kitchen Utensil set are the perfect utensils to use with the MasterChef Cookware and can be redeemed for free with only 20 Stickers or alternatively you can redeem with only 10 Stickers + $10 cash top-up.

    • What is the warranty period for defective MasterChef Cookware products?

The warranty period for defective products is two years for all MasterChef Cookware products.  The warranty excludes damage caused by incorrect usage that does not follow the use & care guidelines, damaged caused by accident, misuse or abuse.

    • What is the ILAG Non-Stick Coating?

All the MasterChef fry pans have an ILAG non-stick coating which helps to prevent food sticking to your pan and makes it very easy to wipe clean.  The three-layer ceramic reinforced coating provides very good resistance to scratches and abrasions.  To protect your non-stick coating, do not use metal or sharp utensils and avoid cutting your ingredients directly in your pan.

    • Can the MasterChef cookware go in the oven?

Yes, all Stainless-Steel items can be used in a conventional oven but there are temperature and time restrictions to adhere to.  The cookware is oven safe with the glass lid up to 180°C/ 356°F at 1 hour and without the lid up to 200°C/ 392°F at 1 hour.   The handles may be extremely hot after oven use, so always pay particular attention to your safety and surroundings and use oven gloves.

The Non-Stick Roaster can be used in a conventional oven up to 260°C/ 500°F.

The cookware should never be used in a microwave oven.

    • Do I need to clean or adjust the pop-up vent on the 18 cm Saucepan and 24 cm Casserole?

The pop-up vent will automatically release steam as and when required by itself, so no adjustment is required, however ensure that the vent is not directing the steam towards the handle of the lid or pan to avoid scolding.

Always ensure that the pop-up steam vent is never blocked.  And always clear any food residue from inside as well as outside of the vent after use.

    • Why are there measurements etched inside the 18 cm Saucepan and 24 cm Casserole?

These internal capacity indicators will help you to measure the liquids being added to the pan.

    • Why are lids made of glass and not stainless steel?

The tempered glass lids allow you to see what’s happening to ensure your food is cooking at the right temperature and speed without disturbing the cooking process.  Using a lid helps control evaporation and accelerate the cooking process.

    • Is it alright to leave the cookware on an oven top for a long period of time?

Never leave the cookware on a hot burner for longer than is necessary or allow the pan to boil dry.  Avoid overheating oils or fats and never leave your cookware unattended when cooking.
Overheating a pan can cause bronze, blue or rainbow tints to appear on the stainless-steel base.  These marks can be removed by using a steel cleaning product but never use steel or metal pads on the inside of your pan.

    • Is there anything I should be aware of when cooking on gas?

Always ensure the flame size is not greater than the base of the pan.

    • Is there anything I should be aware of when cooking on Halogen or Ceramic Hobs?

Do not use cookware smaller than the halogen heat surface.  Ensure that your hob and cookware are free from debris to avoid scratching.

    • Is there anything else I should be aware of when using the MasterChef Cookware?

Salt can cause white spots or pits on stainless steel which cannot be removed.  To avoid this occurring, do not add salt to your pan until the liquid is at boiling point.

Always use a little oil and for best results, cook on a medium heat source.

    • What are the features and functionality of the MasterChef Cookware products?

Utensil Set 2 piece: Are a staple for any kitchen because they won’t damage scratch or damage your pots and pans.  With the nylon head, they’re particularly gentle on non-stick coated cookware and have comfortable and easy grip handles.

Saucepan with Lid 18cm: Is ideal for heating leftovers, preparing grains, boiling eggs, creating sauces and boiling vegetables.  The glass lid allows you to see what’s happening during the cooking process to ensure you’re cooking at the right temperature and speed without distributing the cooking process.  The pop-up steam vent regulates the steam output.

Non Stick Fry Pan 26cm: Has a flat base and curved rounded sides and rim, so it makes it easy to stir and slide food out of the pan.  It is ideal for simmering liquids, frying, scrambling and sauteing and searing.  The ILAG non-stick coating makes it very easy to wipe clean.

Casserole with Lid 24cm: Has higher edges which makes it ideal for adding liquids to make stocks, soups or stews and perfect for keeping grains and pasta submerged during boiling.  The glass lid allows you to see what’s happening during the cooking process to ensure you are cooking at the right temperature and speed without distributing the cooking process.  The pop-up steam vent regulates the steam output.

Non Stick Stir Fry with Lid 28cm: Is the ultimate one pan dish ideal for stir frying or searing multiple ingredients.  With the sloping sides it makes it easier to stir and turn the ingredients as they cook.  The glass lid allows you to see what’s happening during the cooking process to ensure you are cooking at the right temperature and speed without distributing the cooking process.  It has an ILAG non-stick coating which also makes it very easy to wipe clean. Suitable for all hobs including induction.

Non Stick Roaster with Rack: is perfect for cooking, browning or crisping roasts & vegetables in the oven.  The bonus raised stainless steel roasting rack insert ensures even cooking and allows fats/oils to drip away.  It has sturdy and easy grip handles to help transport from oven top to your oven.  With its high sides it helps contain spitting and splashing from juices and the non-stick coating makes it very easy to wipe clean.
