Important dates for the 2019 New World Beer & Cider competition.

Tuesday 29 January

Entries open.

Friday 15 February

Entries close at 5pm.

Monday 18 February

Confirmation of entries, instructions for samples and an invoice for entry fees will be emailed to entrants.

Wednesday 27 February

Final date for receiving samples and entry fee payment. Late sample arrangements may be possible - please contact nwbca@foodstuffs.co.nz

Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 March

Judging takes place at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.

Friday 15 March

Judging results are confirmed by email. Please note the embargo dates on results as per below.
Suppliers of the Top 30 beers & ciders contacted  to confirm their product meets the entry criteria.
IMPORTANT: only Top 30 beers & ciders that meet the entry criteria will be warehoused, displayed and promoted in the four week NWBCA promotion.

Wednesday 20 March

Midday deadline for suppliers of Top 30 beers & ciders to confirm whether the entry criteria are met.

Thursday 21 March

Full instructions emailed to suppliers of Top 30 beers & ciders that meet the entry criteria for inclusion in the four week NWBCA promotion.

Friday 5 April

For the supplier of each Top 30 product featured in the 4 week NWBCA promotion, by this date:

• New suppliers to Foodstuffs must complete the documentation to become a Foodstuffs Approved Supplier

• The product must be set up either via GS1 ProductFlow or Data eXpress (DEX).  

Tuesday 23 April

Breweries can discuss their winning beverages with New World stores ONLY and only from this date. THE PUBLIC EMBARGO REMAINS IN PLACE.

Monday 29 April

Medal certificates dispatched by post. This communication will include a pack of 1,000 New World Beer & Cider Awards medal stickers for every medal winning brew.

Friday 3 May

Any Top 30 products featured in the NWBCA promotion that are imported from overseas must be landed and available in NZ by this date.

w/c 6 May

Suppliers of the Top 30 beers & ciders featured in the 4 week NWBCA promotion will receive their order and delivery details for stock going into Foodstuffs Distribution Centres (DC). Actual order quantity and delivery date will be confirmed by the relevant Buyer.

The public embargo on results is lifted. The date of lifting the public embargo will be confirmed by email from the Competition Director.
