I have spent over 28 years in the Grocery industry and my Wife and I are very proud to own and operate South City New World Supermarket.

Cheeky Monkey Visits NZ's Fairest Supermarket
Recently Fair Trade’s Cheeky Monkey was spotted in NZ’s top Fair Trade Supermarket - New World South City. The Monkey was supposed to be sampling the great tasting Fair Trade Bananas to our customers, but he seemed more interested in sampling most of the bananas himself! Keep a watch out for the Cheeky Monkey, its rumoured that he enjoyed himself so much, he is going to be back at South City very soon – maybe this week ?

We will be offering a free Super Shuttle service between New World St. Martins and New World South City, and now Redcliffs Community Information Centre and New World South City. This FREE service will operate Monday to Friday, starting Monday 4th April.

New World South City became the first Supermarket in New Zealand to offer a Text based feedback system. Partnered with Texsys, an innovative Christchurch Company, New World South City now offers an additional way for Customers to provide Feedback to the Supermarket. We have always had a manual “voucher” based system that has worked really well, but many of our Customers prefer the simplicity of the new Text based system. Every Customer that uses the text feedback service goes in a monthly draw for a $50 Gift voucher.

New World South City Award Winning Team Wins again !
After a cook off of over 400 sausages, New World South City Butchery Team has won 2 Silver Medals In the Great New Zealand Sausage Competition with their Smokin Hot Lamb and their Venison Merlot and Cracked Pepper Sausages. We only started production of our Snagalicious Gourmet Sausages earlier this year, but already demand is outstripping supply.
