Terms and conditions

1. Entry into this competition is deemed acceptance of these and any other applicable terms and conditions. This competition may have additional terms and conditions and wherever possible the additional terms and conditions will be posted at www.newworld.co.nz.

Promoters

2. The Promoters of this competition are Foodstuffs (N.Z.) Limited (‘Foodstuffs’) and Asahi Beverages (NZ) Ltd (‘Supplier’) jointly (Promoters).

Promotion Period and how to enter

3. The competition commences on 02/03/2026 and runs until close of trade on 29/03/2026 (Promotion Period).

Eligible Purchase

4. You will receive one entry in the draw when you purchase any BRB Beer product during the Promotion Period and scan your Clubcard card instore at the time of payment (Eligible Purchase) at all New World stores nationwide (Participating Stores).

When you make an Eligible Purchase you will automatically be entered into the draw.

5. You will only receive one entry into the competition even if you purchase multiple participating products in your Eligible Purchase.

Eligibility to enter and to win a prize

6. To be eligible to enter this competition and win a prize:

  • a) you cannot be an employee or contractor of a Participating Store or the Supplier;
  • b) you must have made an Eligible Purchase from a Participating Store;
  • c) you must be a current Clubcard member;
  • d) you must be a New Zealand resident and 18 years of age or older;
  • e) you must consent to Foodstuffs and Asahi Beverages (NZ) Ltd using your name, photo, hometown and image for publicity and promotional purposes (including the display of your name in store) and you must make yourself available for publicity photographs relating to the competition on request for no additional compensation.

7. Entries which in the reasonable opinion of the Promoters:

  • a) are received outside the Promotion Period;
  • b) contain defamatory, offensive or inappropriate content or infringe intellectual property rights;
  • c) are incomplete or indecipherable; or
  • d) do not otherwise comply with these Terms and Conditions,

will be invalid and ineligible for any prize.

How winners will be selected

8. The Weekly and Major Prize Draw for all winners will be drawn by Foodstuffs (or its agent) by 13/04/2026 by random electronic selection from all entries.

Major Prize Draw: The first eligible winner drawn from all entries received will win a Backyard Cricket Experience for four (4) adults (18+ years) valued at up to $10,000.00 NZD. The Major Prize includes:

- Return economy class flights for 4 from the winner’s nearest commercial airport to Auckland, NZ

- All airline and airport taxes

- Return private transfers from the airport to accommodation

- 1 night Auckland accommodation for 4

- Daily breakfast

- Return private transfers from the hotel to the event

- A 4-hour Backyard Cricket Experience at an Auckland-based venue on a confirmed date in September – November 2026.

9. Weekly Prizes: There are four (4) Weekly Prize winners. The first eligible winner drawn from all entries received each week from the start of business Monday to the close of business Sunday from the week prior (Weekly Prize Draw) will win a signed Blackcaps Merch Pack valued at up to $1,330.00 NZD each. The Merch pack includes:

- 1 x Signed Blackcaps Bat

- 1 x Signed Blackcaps Test or T20 Shirt

The Merch pack will be sent via courier to their nominated delivery address within 28 business days of the prize draw.

  • Week 1: Entries received 02/03/2026 – 08/03/2026
  • Week 2: Entries received 09/03/2026 – 15/03/2026
  • Week 3: Entries received 16/03/2026 – 22/03/2026
  • Week 4: Entries received 23/03/2026 – 29/03/2026

10. The total prize pool is valued at up to $15,320.00 NZD

If prize becomes unavailable

11. Subject to any applicable law that cannot be excluded, the Promoters are not responsible or liable for any loss suffered by any entrant in the event that a prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond its control. In this event, the Promoters may substitute a prize of their choice.

Notifying winners

12. Winners will be notified by Foodstuffs or the Supplier within 5 working days of the draw being completed to arrange delivery of the prize to a New Zealand residential address, via the contact details on record for the Clubcard used to enter the competition. In the event that a winner cannot be contacted within 5 working days of a draw occurring or if the Promoters determine that a winner is not eligible to participate in a draw the prize will be forfeited, a further draw will be conducted using the same eligibility criteria, and the prize allocated to the new winner.

13. The Promoters are not responsible if a winner cannot be contacted following the draw due to incorrect or out of date contact details being recorded in Clubcard’s system, and any such winner will forfeit the prize to the next eligible winner, on these Terms and Conditions.

Prize conditions

14. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or negotiable and are not redeemable for cash.

15. The prize draw results are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

16. The Major Prize is subject to additional terms and conditions specified by the Promoter’s nominated travel partner. The winners must accept and agree to the prize supplier terms in order to redeem the prize.

17. If the Major Prize winner is within reasonable driving distance to the location of the Backyard Cricket Experience, they will forfeit the flights component of the prize. In lieu of airfares, the Promoter may offer a travel allowance of up to $500 NZD to contribute towards the winner’s travel expenses. The exact amount of the allowance will be determined by the Promoter at their sole discretion. The Promoter’s decision is final

18. The Prize is valid for set travel dates in September – November 2026 to coincide with the Backyard Cricket Experience. All bookings and inclusions regarding the Travel Prize must be made via the Promoter’s chosen travel agent. Redeeming the Prize is conditional to accepting the terms and conditions as detailed by the Promoter and in accordance with normal travel practices. All travel is subject to availability and may be dependent on specific booking classes with airlines or specific room categories with accommodation partners. All airline and accommodation options are at the Promoter’s discretion. No part of the prize is redeemable for cash. It is non-refundable and non-transferable. Winner is responsible for any amendment fees issued by airlines or suppliers once the booking is approved and issued. Winner (or nominated proxy) is responsible for any amendment fees by airlines or suppliers once the booking is including but not limited to travel insurance and insurance excess that is not listed in the travel prize package inclusions, are the responsibility of the travel prize winner and their travel companions. It is the winner’s responsibility to organise transport to and from the airport departure and return point.

19. The prize must be taken in its entirety as specified. The winner and their travelling companion are able to extend their prize at their own cost, but changes to the trip itinerary will not be accepted.

20. Any changes to travel or additional accommodation outside the travel period must be approved in advance by the Promoter and will be at the expense of the winner (or nominated proxy) and any travelling companion as incurred. The Promoter is not responsible for the cancellation, delay or rescheduling of any part of the travel component and any costs incurred by the winner or any travelling companion as a result (including accommodation costs) will be the responsibility of the winner. The winner (or their proxy is applicable) is responsible for ensuring that they and their travelling companion are fit to travel and have received appropriate immunisations and/or health checks prior to travelling.

21. The Promoter makes no representation as to safety, conditions and other issues that may exist at any destination and the winner should seek their own travel advice. The winner accepts the Prize and all travel associated with attending the Backyard Cricket Experience at their own risk.

Verifying compliance with these terms

22. The Promoters reserve the right to verify the identity of any entrant (including an entrant's identity, age, city/town of residence and place of employment) and to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant, or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Exclusion of liability

23. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded, Foodstuffs, any Participating Store, the Supplier, and their respective employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature incurred or suffered by any person (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this competition or with winning, redeeming or benefiting from the prize.

Disputes

24. In the event of a dispute concerning any aspect of the competition including eligibility the decision of the Promoters will be final. No correspondence concerning any decision made by the Promoters will be entered into.

25. In addition to these Terms and Conditions, terms and conditions of your Clubcard will also apply and can be viewed at www.clubcard.co.nz.

26. The Promoters reserve the right to amend, suspend or terminate the competition and these Terms and Conditions at any time.

27. Entries remain the property of the Promoters. Entrants license and grant the Promoters, their affiliates and sub-licensees a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, and sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display any content submitted in or with the entry for any purpose, including but not limited to future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes, in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability. Entrants consent to any dealings with their entry that may otherwise infringe any moral rights in the entry, to the extent permitted by law.

28. By submitting content as part of an entry to the competition, entrants release the Promoters, their respective employees, directors and officers from any and all liability for use and publication of the content, including any such liability that may arise under patent, trade mark, copyright, or any other applicable law. Entrants warrant that the content is their original work, that they are the sole author, and that they are able to provide the licence and releases required under these terms and conditions.

Privacy

29. Your personal information may be used to conduct this competition and for future promotional and publicity purposes in relation to this competition. By entering this competition, you consent to the use of your personal information for these purposes and we may use your personal information in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Foodstuffs’ New World Privacy Policy will apply to all personal information that Foodstuffs collects from you. The Supplier’s Privacy Policy https://www.asahi.com.au/privacy will apply to all personal information that is collected by, or shared with, the Supplier.
