Creamy mushrooms on toast

Perfect for a brunch date, these creamy mushrooms on toast are absolutely heavenly when served over your choice of buttered toasted bread. Ready in 30 minutes, for the best morning meal.

Ingredients

  • 60g butter

  • 400g mixed mushrooms, thinly sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 Tbsp thyme leaves

  • 1 ½ cups cream

  • Your favourite bread, toasted

Method

  1. In a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Sauté the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes or until golden.

  2. Add garlic and thyme. Cook for a further minute or until fragrant.

  3. Pour in the cream, season with salt and pepper and stir to combine. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until slightly thickened.

  4. Serve the creamy mushrooms over your choice of buttered and toasted bread.

Tips:

  • For extra flair add a sprinkling of grated parmesan and freshly chopped parsley before indulging.
