The Mac dad of chocolate cakes

Ingredients

Method

  • 170g butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 & 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups flour - I use high grade only - but standard is ok
  • 3-4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • chocolate icing:
  • 250g butter
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup milk

  1. Soften butter and brown sugar in microwave.
  2. Mix well it will go a pale brown colour.
  3. Add eggs 1 by 1, cream until light and fluffy.
  4. Add remaining ingredients - dont over mix - it will be a wet cake batter.
  5. Cook at 180 for 30 - 40 mins.

Icing:

  1. Soften butter in microwave.
  2. Sift all other ingredients.
  3. Warm milk in microwave.
  4. Mix well.
  5. You can you do them in muffin tins too, or in a log shape tin.
