A cool winter with lighter than average rainfall. This mild, dry weather through the growing season produced grapes with great flavour and concentration. Summer was full of sunshine and dry weather which was great for ripening the grapes. Sourced from Barossa vineyards where the vines range from young (approximately 10 - 15 years old) to old (greater than 35 years). They are planted in a diverse range of sites and have slight variations in micro-climates and soil types, including red brown earths, sandy loams or dark clay soils. These variations contribute to the diversity of flavours in Samuel’s Collection Barossa Shiraz. Deep, dark, purple red in colour. Deliciously brooding aromatics of ripe plum, spicy red currants, anise and dark chocolate. A complex wine with savoury spices, ironstone and lots of dark fruits. This is a full bodied, generously flavoured classic Barossa Shiraz.
