Queues outside some of our stores have become more common so that we can maintain physical distancing measures when you’re shopping. We've been working hard to improve your shopping experience where it matters most, so at a select number of our stores, we are introducing a new virtual queuing system to improve your safety and reduce the length of time you spend queuing when shopping with us.
Virtual queue is currently available at the following North Island New World stores:
How does it work? It’s easy!
Find your store's unique TXT code on posters outside the store. Simply TXT in your store’s code to secure your place in the queue, wait in the comfort of your car or somewhere nearby, and you will be alerted when it’s your turn to shop.
Your ticket or a return TXT will confirm your place in line so you can wait somewhere more comfortable, in your car or maybe somewhere else nearby. If you don't get a TXT back, please come check with our team. You’ll be notified once it’s your turn to shop, just be sure you get to store within 10 minutes so you don’t lose your spot! Show your TXT confirmation or ticket to our staff on entrance and you can start your shop.*
Please be sure to remember your 2m physical distancing, only touch what you are going to buy, use contactless payments where possible, leave your reusable bags in the car and please #bekind.
Thanks to our awesome partners at NextUp who’ve helped us bring this exciting new virtual queue solution to our community.
*Standard SMS rates apply. New World and Foodstuffs do not receive any income from the text messages or the digital queue service. All SMS costs are between the customer and their telecommunications carrier. New World reserves the right to change the text code at any time.
No phone? No worries!
Just come see our friendly staff and they secure your place in the queue. You’ll receive a ticket with a number in return; just keep a look out for your number to be called.
