To play, make sure you’re a Clubcard member and have the New World app, then each Wednesday at midday a new game will be available to play – spin & match to win!* Once the game drops you can play anytime before 11.59pm the following Tuesday.

I’ve logged in to the New World app but can’t see the ‘Spin for SMEG’ tile?
• Have you only just joined Clubcard? You will be eligible to play the next Spin for SMEG game when it becomes available the following Wednesday.
• If you’re not already a Clubcard member, click on the ‘Join Clubcard now!’ tile and follow the prompts. You will see the ‘Spin for SMEG’ tile the following Wednesday. To play ‘Spin for SMEG’ games, you can join Clubcard at any time until 11.59pm on Tuesday 12 August.
• Check you have app version 4.28.0 or later. To do this, tap the 3 bars at the top left of the home screen to open the menu and scroll down to see the version number. If you need to update, go into your app store, search for New World app and tap update.
• If you’re a Clubcard member and you can see the ‘Join Clubcard now!’ tile, contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70 to link up your email address and Clubcard account.
• Your Clubcard may have been manually added to the app. To check, tap the 3 bars at the top left of the home screen to open the menu and tap on ‘Personal details’. If you see a rubbish bin icon next to your Clubcard number, your Clubcard isn’t properly linked to your account. Please contact our Customer Service team on 0800 80 70 70.
• Do you have multiple devices logged in with your account?
- Each game can only be played once and the ‘Spin for SMEG’ tile will disappear when the weekly game has been played.
- If the game has already been played on another device with the same log in, you’ll receive an error message when you go to play.
• Check the date – ‘Spin for SMEG’ game is available to play from Wednesday 25 June to Tuesday 19 August inclusive.

How many chances do I get to play?
You have one chance to play the game each week. Each app game will become available at midday Wednesday, between the 25 June to 13 August.
You have until 11.59pm the following Tuesday to play each game.There are eight games in total during the promotion period, 25 June to 19 August 2025.

What are the prizes available to win?

How will I know if I have won a prize?
If you are a winner, the game screen will say – ‘You’ve won a prize’, state the prize you’ve won and show a corresponding prize image.

How long do I have to wait to receive my prize?
New World Dollar prizes will automatically be added to your New World Dollars balance and will be able to be seen in the app.
You might need to refresh the app to see the balance update.
SMEG prizes take a little longer as we need to confirm delivery details. The New World Customer Service team will be in contact with winners within 5 business days via email to confirm your details. From there the delivery can be arranged. Winners will need to confirm their contact details within 5 Business days or their prize may be redrawn.

I won a SMEG prize – but haven’t received any confirmation from New World?
As these are physical prizes we need a little bit of time to arrange delivery with the winners.
• Check your contact details are correct

• The New World Customer Service team will reach out to prize winners via email within 5 business days from when the SMEG prize was won.

How do I check my contact details are correct?

I’ve won a SMEG prize and I’ve been contacted by someone who isn’t New World?
To help fulfil some of the SMEG prizes we are working with the local SMEG distributor – Applico. If you have won a SMEG Fridge, Kettle, Toaster or Hand Blender they will be in contact with your either via email or phone to confirm the delivery.
For the Complete SMEG Knife Block set, you should only be contacted by New World Customer Service team.

What is the Bonus Prize Draw?
Each time you complete the ‘Spin for SMEG’ app game – you are also given entry into the Bonus prize draw – where you can win 1 of each of the SMEG items available:

When is the Bonus Prize Draw going to be drawn?
The prize draw will be drawn on 20 August 2025 once all app games have been completed. The winner will be contacted directly.
The winner will need to respond with confirmed contact details within 5 business days.
Downloading the New World app
When you’ve downloaded the New World app and you’re a Clubcard member, tap ‘Log in’ on the app landing screen and enter your Clubcard number or email address and password.
Alternatively, if you shop online with New World, you can log in to the app using your online shopping account email and password and join Clubcard.

Terms and conditions
Promoter
1. Foodstuffs (N.Z.) Limited (Foodstuffs) is the promoter of the New World Spin for SMEG Promotion (Promotion).
2. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Promotion Period
3. The Promotion runs from 12.00pm Wednesday 25 June 2025 – 11.59pm Tuesday 19 August 2025, excluding the time between each Entry Period as defined in clause 5 (Promotion Period).
4. There are eight separate games available to be played throughout the Promotion Period, as detailed in clause 5 below.
How to Play
5. To enter, go to the New World mobile application and follow the prompts to the Spin for SMEG game promotion. You will then be presented with a “Spin to play” game. You have eight opportunities to play the game during the Promotion Period, with a new entry period beginning at midday each Wednesday during the Promotion Period. Eligible entrants are eligible to play the game once during each of:
a. 12.00pm Wednesday 25 June – 11.59pm Tuesday 1 July 2025
b. 12.00pm Wednesday 2 July - 11.59pm Tuesday 8 July 2025;
c. 12.00pm Wednesday 9 July - 11.59pm Tuesday 15 July 2025;
d. 12.00pm Wednesday 16 July - 11.59pm Tuesday 22 July 2025;
e. 12.00pm Wednesday 23 July - 11.59pm Tuesday 29 July 2025;
f. 12.00pm Wednesday 30 July - 11.59pm Tuesday 5 August 2025;
g. 12.00pm Wednesday 6 August - 11.59pm Tuesday 12 August 2025; and
h. 12.00pm Wednesday 13 August - 11.59pm Tuesday 19 August 2025.
(each, an Entry Period).
6. You must play the game during the applicable Entry Period to be eligible to enter the draw for that Entry Period. To avoid doubt, there are eight opportunities in total to play the game during the Promotion Period.
7. The object of each game is to virtually reveal 3 identical symbols in a vertical row. To play the game, you must tap the “spin” button and which will move the symbols and show 3 symbols to see whether you have won a prize.
8. Entrants who reveal 3 identical symbols in a row will immediately be notified they have won a Prize.
9. Entrants who do not reveal 3 identical symbols in a row will not win a Prize and will receive a message stating “Better luck next time”. For the sake of clarity, the winning/losing algorithm of the “Spin & Win” game will be based on a set percentage win rate applicable to each Entry Period (i.e. winning is based on chance and not the application of skill). The chance of winning depends on the number of participants in the Promotion.
Prizes
10. There are up to 34,832 prizes to be won in total across the full duration of the Promotion Period (and the Bonus Prize Draw) with a total value of $314,231 broken down as follows:
a. Please refer to appendix for prize models etc.
Please note that at the time you enter the Promotion some Prizes may have already been won.
As the game is based on chance, there is a possibility some Prizes may remain at the end of each Entry Period. These Prizes will be entered into the next game (if applicable).
b. Bonus Prize Draw: There will be a Bonus Prize Draw for all entrants of the Spin for SMEG game promotions following completion of all eight games during the Promotion Period. You will have one entry into the Bonus Prize Draw for each game that you have played during the Promotion Period (ie. a maximum of eight entries). One Prize winner will be drawn by Foodstuffs on 20/08/2025 by random electronic selection from all entries. The Prize winner will win the five Smeg Prizes set out in the Bonus Prize Draw section of the table above.
c. New World Dollar Prizes - Will be automatically loaded to each winners New World Clubcard account. For Clubcard members who have chosen to earn Airpoints Dollars and win a Prize, that Prize will be loaded to the relevant winners account in New World Dollars. The New World Dollars will be automatically converted into Airpoints Dollars in accordance with the conversion process at clause 8 of the New World Clubcard Terms and Conditions.
d. SMEG Physical Prizes – Winners of a SMEG Prize will be notified by Foodstuffs within 5 business days of each game being completed to arrange delivery of the Prize to your New Zealand residential address, via the contact details on record for the Clubcard used to enter the competition. In the event that a winner cannot be contacted within 5 business days of Foodstuffs notifying the winner, the Prize will be forfeited and Foodstuffs reserves the right to add the SMEG Prize to the next game (if applicable). Prizes are available for delivery only within mainland New Zealand. This excludes delivery to offshore islands such as Waiheke Island, Stewart Island, Chatham Islands, and other remote locations.
Eligibility to Enter and to Win a Prize
11. To be eligible to win a Prize you must:
a. at the beginning of the Entry Period that you play the game, be a current New World Clubcard member;
b. at the beginning of the Entry Period that you play the game, have downloaded the New World mobile application;
c. be a New Zealand resident and 18 years of age or older; and
d. consent to Foodstuffs using your name, photo, hometown and image for publicity and promotional purposes (including the display of your name in store) and you must make yourself available for publicity photographs relating to the competition on request for no additional compensation.
Verifying compliance with these terms
12. Foodstuffs and/or its agents reserve the right, at any time, to verify the identity of any entrant (including an entrant's identity, age, city/town of residence and place of employment) and to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant, or an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Promotion, or otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at Foodstuffs’ discretion. Failure by Foodstuffs to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. Foodstuffs’ legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
Exclusion of liability
13. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded, Foodstuffs and each New World store, their respective employees and agents:
a. assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to alteration of entries; and
b. will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature incurred or suffered by any person (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this Promotion
c. The SMEG Prizes require specific instructions which you will receive if you win a SMEG Prize and which is also available at online at www.newworld.co.nz/smeg. It is your duty to comply with the care instructions. Subject to any applicable laws which cannot be excluded and without limiting clause 13(b), Foodstuffs and each Participating Store, their respective employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature suffered by any person (including indirect or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) in relation to the SMEG Prizes if the care instructions are not followed.
14. Foodstuffs may, in its sole discretion, refuse to award a Prize if it believes that a customer has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions.
Disputes
15. In the event of a dispute concerning any aspect of the promotion the decision of Foodstuffs and its agents will be final. No correspondence concerning any decision made by Foodstuffs or its agents will be entered into.
Additional terms
16. In addition to these terms and conditions, New World Clubcard terms and conditions and the New World mobile application end user licence agreement (in the ‘Legal’ section of the mobile application) will also apply.
17. Foodstuffs reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate this Promotion or these terms and conditions at any time.
18. Foodstuffs reserves the right to substitute a Prize in whole (or in part) with a substitute prize of equal or greater value.
19. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or negotiable and are not redeemable for cash.
Privacy
20. All entries remain the property of Foodstuffs. Your personal information may be used to conduct this competition and for future promotional and publicity purposes in relation to this competition. By entering this competition, you consent to the use of your personal information for these purposes. Foodstuffs’ New World Privacy Policy will apply to all personal information that we collect from you.
