Fish and vegetables - stage 3 baby food

The combination of mild tasting fish and vegetables in a creamy cheese sauce is very popular and gets your baby used to family foods. Remember to avoid this dish if there is a family history of allergies to seafood.

Ingredients

  • Selection of vegetables

  • 150g fresh fish like terakihi, gurnard or hoki

  • Milk

Method

  1. Prepare and cook a selection of vegetables like broccoli, peas, zucchini and carrot, then finely chop.

  2. Put the fish in a small pan, cover with milk and simmer for 5 minutes, then discard the milk.

  3. Flake the fish (double checking there aren't any bones) and mix with the cooked vegetables and cheese sauce then blend or mash as required.

Suitable for freezing.
