Nibble away at these golden, herby parmesan chicken drumsticks. They’re the perfect meal to share with the whole whānau and a delicious homemade alternative to your local takeout.
Ingredients
8 chicken drumsticks
2 garlic cloves, finely diced
50g butter, softened
½ cup parmesan, finely grated
¼ cup fresh herbs, roughly chopped (we used parsley and thyme)
Method
Preheat your oven to 200°C fan bake. Pat the drumsticks dry with a paper towel. Next, toss the drumsticks with a drizzle of olive oil, garlic and seasoning in a bowl until well coated.
Arrange the drumsticks on a wire rack set on top of a baking tray, and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl stir together butter, parmesan and herbs. While still hot, toss the drumsticks in the herby parmesan butter until fully coated.
Return the drumsticks to the oven for 10 minutes or until golden and cooked through, then serve while hot and enjoy!
Top Tip
Serve with chunky homemade hand-cut fries (agria or red skin potatoes work best!) and your favourite store-bought slaw for a family-friendly ‘fakeaway’.
