Herby parmesan drumsticks
Nibble away at these golden, herby parmesan chicken drumsticks. They’re the perfect meal to share with the whole whānau and a delicious homemade alternative to your local takeout.

- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
- 50g butter, softened
- ½ cup parmesan, finely grated
- ¼ cup fresh herbs, roughly chopped (we used parsley and thyme)
Method
- Preheat your oven to 200°C fan bake. Pat the drumsticks dry with a paper towel. Next, toss the drumsticks with a drizzle of olive oil, garlic and seasoning in a bowl until well coated.
- Arrange the drumsticks on a wire rack set on top of a baking tray, and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl stir together butter, parmesan and herbs. While still hot, toss the drumsticks in the herby parmesan butter until fully coated.
- Return the drumsticks to the oven for 10 minutes or until golden and cooked through, then serve while hot and enjoy!
Top Tip
Serve with chunky homemade hand-cut fries (agria or red skin potatoes work best!) and your favourite store-bought slaw for a family-friendly ‘fakeaway’.
