Slow cooker bread and butter pudding
Bread and butter pudding is a timeless dessert that’s made even more simple by popping it in the slow cooker. Set and forget, for a low-effort winter pudding to dig into after dinner. Serve this comforting classic with cream or custard, or enjoy the pudding on its own.

- 8 slices of bread, cubed
 - ¾ cup sultanas
 - 75g butter, melted
 - 4 eggs, beaten
 - ½ cup caster sugar
 - 2 cups milk
 - ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
 
Method
- Place the bread and raisins in a slow cooker.
 - Beat together the eggs, butter, sugar and milk, and pour over the bread and raisins.
 - Toss to evenly coat the bread with the liquid and sprinkle the ground nutmeg evenly over the top of the pudding.
 - Cover and cook on low for 3 hours, or until the pudding has just set and a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
 
Top tip:
Switch out the sultanas for chocolate chips for a chocolate lover's twist.
