Everyone loves a good chocolate brownie but did you know you can make it in your slow cooker? The heavenly smell will fill your home for a few hours when preparing it in advance, making everyone eager to dig in once it’s done.

Slow Cooker Chocolate Brownie

Ingredients

Method

Ingredients

  • 225g butter, cubed
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ cup cocoa

Method

  1. Grease your slow cooker with butter and line with baking paper.
  2. Melt the butter, chocolate and sugar over low heat and leave to cool.
  3. Mix in the eggs one at a time before adding the vanilla essence, flour and cocoa.
  4. Stir to combine and transfer the batter to the lined slow cooker. Cook on low for 3 hours, or until the edges are cooked through and the centre is slightly soft.
  5. Turn the slow cooker off and leave the brownie to cool for half an hour before removing. Lift the brownie out using the baking paper. Serve warm, scooped into a bowl or leave it to cool completely and cut into slices.

Top tip:

Dust with icing sugar and serve with berries to make it a little bit fancy.
