Sweet and sour pork rolls

"Sweet and sour pork is a worldwide famous Chinese dish. I put in my creative idea to make pork rolls to show skills and make it more attractive to serve, especially at the World Cup or for any special guests at special time."

  • 500g pork scotch
  • 50g green capsicum
  • 50g red capsicum
  • 100g pineapple
  • 50g onion
  • 1 stalk spring onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for deep frying
  • 1 large apple
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/4 tsp five spice powder
  • 1 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • Shakes of pepper
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 15ml white vinegar
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 30ml water
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tbsp HP sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Worchester sauce
  • 1/2 tsp arrowroot
  • 2 Tbsp. Plain flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Sesame seeds (optional)

Method

Pork:

  • 1/4 tsp five spice powder
  • 1 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • Shakes of pepper
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 15ml white vinegar
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 30ml water
  • 1 Tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1/4 Tbsp HP sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Worchester sauce
  • 1/2 tsp arrowroot
  1. Clean, dry and cut pork into thin pork chop slices.
  2. Marinate with seasonings.

Prepare filling:

  • 1 large apple
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  1. Peel and core apple.
  2. Cut apple into batons.
  3. Mix it with ground cinnamon, lemon zests.
  4. Roll each pork chop slice with apple baton.
  5. Mix pork rolls with beaten egg, coat with coating. Shake off excesses.
  6. Cut pineapple, onion, green capsicum and red capsicum into cubes. Cut spring onion into 4 cm lengths. Chop garlic finely.

Sauce and Coating:

  • 50g Green capsicum
  • 50g Red capsicum
  • 100g pineapple
  • 50g onion
  • 1 stalk Spring onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for deep frying
  1. Deep fry pork rolls in medium heat for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain.
  2. Heat half tbsp oil in work, sauté garlic and onion, add sauce, stir well.
  3. Add in pineapple and capsicum. Keep on stirring until thickened.
  4. Lastly add in the deep fried pork rolls and spring onion.
  5. Stir until the pork is coated well with the sauce. SERVE HOT.
