Crispy tofu and sesame slaw tacos

Change up your ‘Taco Tuesday’ with this crispy tofu taco recipe for a tasty weeknight vegetarian meal! Filled with sesame slaw and crispy bites of tofu tossed through a honey soy sauce; even the biggest of meat lovers will enjoy this plant-based option.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup cornflour

  • 450g Pams Firm Tofu, cut into cubes

  • 300g Pams Honey Soy Simmer Sauce

  • 1 bag (500g) Pams Asian Sesame Slaw

  • 8 flour tortillas

Method

  1. Place the cornflour in a bowl, and season with salt and pepper. Add the tofu, and toss to coat.

  2. Shallow fry the tofu in oil over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden. Once cooked, drain on a plate lined with a paper towel.

  3. Gently warm the honey and soy simmer sauce in a small saucepan. Add in the crispy tofu and quickly stir through to coat.

  4. Warm the tortillas in a hot pan or microwave, then assemble the tacos by filling with the dressed and seasoned sesame slaw and crispy coated tofu. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Top Tip:

For a tasty topping, finish off these tofu tacos with some Japanese mayo, toasted sesame seeds and pickled ginger, fresh coriander or spring onion for a green pop!
